Faces Everywhere: Towards Ubiquitous Production and Delivery of Face Animation
نویسندگان
چکیده
While face animation is still considered one of the toughest tasks in computer animation, its potential application range is rapidly moving from the classical field of film production into games, communications, news delivery and commerce. To support such novel applications, it is important to enable production and delivery of face animation on a wide range of platforms, from high-end animation systems to the web, game consoles and mobile phones. Our goal is to offer a framework of tools interconnected by standard formats and protocols and capable of supporting any imaginable application involving face animation with the desired level of animation quality, automatic production wherever it is possible, and delivery on a wide range of platforms. While this is clearly an ongoing task, we present the current state of development along with several case studies showing that a wide range of applications is already enabled.

3 D Face Animation Based on Morphable Model ?
We present a 3D face animation method based on the morphable model. Given a facial image, the 3D face can be reconstructed automatically by the morphable model. So it is feasible to animate any face with the model. To construct the morphable model, a set of neutral 3D faces are acquired and aligned. A general parameterized animation model is constructed from expressive 3D faces and used to anim...
متن کاملComparative Study of 3D Face Acquisition Techniques
Today, communication devices are evolving towards friendly–user interactivity while permanently eyeing towards 3D display technologies. As such, 3D face generation, modelling and animation techniques are in the frontline to design realistic animated 3D talking faces. Simple, reliable and economic, 2D image processing techniques have been widely used to reconstruct 3D faces. This paper focuses o...
متن کاملSome Conditions for Characterizing Minimum Face in Non-Radial DEA Models with Undesirable Outputs
The problem of utilizing undesirable (bad) outputs in DEA models often need replacing the assumption of free disposability of outputs by weak disposability of outputs. The Kuosmanen technology is the only correct representation of the fully convex technology exhibiting weak disposability of bad and good outputs. Also, there are some specific features of non-radial data envelopment analysis (DEA...
متن کاملChapter VIII Modeling and Synthesis of Realistic Visual Speech in 3 D
The problem of realistic face animation is a difficult one. This is hampering a further breakthrough of some high-tech domains, such as special effects in the movies, the use of 3D face models in communications, the use of avatars and likenesses in virtual reality, and the production of games with more subtle scenarios. This work attempts to improve on the current stateof-the-art in face animat...
متن کاملTalking faces for MPEG-4 compliant scalable face-to-face telecommunication
We present here a system that captures, encodes and renders speaker-specific speech gestures in a MPEG-4 compliant framework. The process is eased by two original options: (a) the use of a specific video capture via a head-mounted camera, (b).the a priori construction of speaker-specific shape and appearance models. We will show that speaker-specific articulatory movements can be straightforwar...
